Your classic Ono experience located in a nice shopping plaza with surprisingly large amount of parking spots. The inside is quite small and not designed to host large parties that are dining in, so would recommend this as a convenient take-out option located along the edge of SF!

I was driving one day on an empty stomach and asked Siri to search for restaurants near me, and Ono Hawaiian BBQ popped up, so I decided to stop for an emergency dinner. Oh my, I ordered the chicken combo plate with BBQ chicken, chicken Katsu, white rice, steamed cabbage, broccoli, and macaroni salad. It was so yummy that I have returned at least three more times since my first order from this location. My partner enjoyed the flavor of the chicken choices and portions; the service was fast, friendly, and orderly. The ambiance is of an island cabin kitchen until you look out the window and see cars pass by; I waited for about 10 minutes, before leaving worh my order, the food was cooked fresh and hot right out of my to-go box. Me and my partner enjoy these meals. Five stars

I've never been to Hawaii, and I don't pretend to think that Ono's can replicate an authentic experience there. However, the same way one can enjoy Panda Express without thinking it is authentic Chinese cuisine, I feel Ono also has a place in the line-up of fast, casual dining. Rice, paired with macaroni salad, and chicken katsu--the OG fusion dish of East meeting West! I enjoy the crispiness of the chicken katsu, balanced by the creaminess of the of salad. And the rice? Who can say no to (gluten free) carbs? The Hawaiian BBQ is also solid, and I enjoy going back and forth between the katsu and the BBQ. I would say that with inflation / shrinkflation all around us (with perhaps Chipotle being one the more famous examples), Ono Hawaiian isn't immune to this, but I don't think that thier prices and proportions haven't changed as much as other competitors have.

We came here for the June 2024 island spice lunch which was $9.99. They raised the price from $7. And there is less food. Two scoops of white rice, one scoop of max salas, some cabbage and broccoli. there were 4 pieces of spice fish but they werent that big. make sure to get teriyaki sauce to put over the rice.

Surprised that this place gets such a low rating. I really enjoyed the few meals I got here. All delicious! Especially like the macaroni salad. I also enjoyed the crab Rangoon. Location is a bit far from us but when we do visit, we all like their food.

I ordered a mini chicken katsu, a chicken katsu dinner plate, and a combo plate. The food came out fast and the staff was prompt. The katsu chicken was crunchy and juicy but my favorite part was the macaroni salad. I love the katsu sauce which tastes similar to a tangy barbecue sauce.
